The Old English Sloe Gin by Hammer & Son is a refined traditional liqueur that pays homage to the ancient art of English gin-making. It is produced from the renowned Old English Gin, distilled from an original 1783 recipe using 11 carefully selected botanicals, in the oldest pot still still in operation in the United Kingdom, at the historic Langley Distillery.
To this solid base is added a long infusion of wild sloe berries, which macerate slowly for 4–6 months. The recipe is completed with a touch of natural sweetening, added just before bottling. The distillate is presented in the iconic champagne-style bottle, made from recycled glass and hand-sealed with wax, recalling the historic bottles used in the 18th century.
The result is an elegant and harmonious sloe gin, with a fruity, smooth character and gentle spicy undertones, blending tradition, craftsmanship, and authenticity in every sip. Perfect to enjoy neat, over ice, or as the base for classic retro-style cocktails.

Color: Deep ruby red.
Nose: Intense and enveloping aromas of wild sloe berries open the bouquet, enriched with nuances of ripe cherry, red fruit jam, and delicate hints of bitter almond. In the background, warm spicy notes and a subtle touch of juniper reveal the finesse of the base gin. The aromatic profile is deep, harmonious, and irresistibly enveloping.
Palate: Smooth and velvety entry, with an initial sweetness well balanced by the dry tannic edge typical of sloe berries. Fruity notes of plum, blackcurrant, and blackberry intertwine with accents of sweet spices and a slightly balsamic finish. The texture is rich but never cloying.
Finish: Long and harmonious, evolving from sweet to dry. Lingering sensations of macerated red fruit, aromatic roots, and a spicy echo reminiscent of cinnamon and juniper.
