The Pinotage Stained Gin is the latest creation from Six Dogs Distillery, initially launched as a limited edition and later added to the permanent line thanks to the enthusiastic reception it received.
It is a classic dry gin, distilled with traditional botanicals such as juniper, coriander, angelica, and cassia bark, but elevated by an element deeply tied to South Africa: Pinotage grapes, hand-harvested by local vintners near the distillery. Whole grapes are infused in the gin for around six weeks, allowing the spirit to absorb their aromatic intensity and distinctive ruby colour. The result is a gin with a unique profile, combining the freshness of a dry distillate with the fruity, velvety richness of the grape.

Colour: Ruby red.
Nose: Warm, enveloping, and deeply inviting, with earthy and fruity notes reminiscent of ripe grape pulp, pine, and hints of red fruit. A rich bouquet that merges the soul of classic gin with the vinous character of Pinotage.
Palate: Striking in its balance between freshness and depth. The structure of a London Dry remains clearly recognisable, but it is enriched by a juicy fruit-driven vein: black cherry, plum, and blackcurrant emerge in succession, wrapped in a subtle tannic texture that adds complexity and body.
Finish: Persistent and harmonious, with an aftertaste of dark berries and a subtle echo of spice and resin.
