The Nerabus Heather Gin is the first gin released in 2017 by Isle of Islay Gin, an artisanal distillery located on the Scottish island of Islay. Produced in small batches, this gin is handcrafted using 100% Islay water and nine main botanicals, including juniper, citrus, and sweet almond. Its distinctive feature is the infusion of wild heather, hand-picked directly on the island.

The peat moorlands of Islay provide an ideal environment for heather, a hardy plant that thrives even in the harshest climates and can grow as far north as Iceland. The harvest takes place sustainably during the summer, at the peak of flowering, and the blossoms are dried in the winter months to preserve their aroma and botanical properties.

The Nerabus Heather Gin is a balanced and refined spirit with a botanical profile deeply tied to its terroir. Juniper takes center stage, elegantly enriched by the floral notes of Islay heather and bright citrus accents. Highly versatile, it is perfect for both refined cocktails and neat sipping.

Colour: Clear, crystalline.

Nose: The gin opens with delicate floral notes, where wild Islay heather stands out, supported by a juniper backbone and light citrus nuances.

Palate: On the palate, juniper dominates in a classic London Dry style, accompanied by floral and earthy tones. Elegant citrus notes and a subtle spiciness emerge, adding complexity and freshness.

Finish: Long and smooth, with a return of flowers, spice, and citrus, further refined by the purity of Islay’s local water.
