Created at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in the heart of Kagoshima Prefecture, Wa Bi Gin embodies the harmony between deep Japanese tradition and contemporary sensibility.
Produced in small artisanal batches by the Hombo Shuzo group, this unique gin is crafted from a rice-based spirit and a selection of nine local botanicals sourced in Kagoshima, including yuzu, cinnamon leaves, green tea, shiso, ginger, and kumquat harvested around Kaseda-Tsunuki, home of the distillery. These are complemented by European juniper and coriander seeds to complete the structure of the distillate. The botanicals are divided into two groups and macerated separately before being distilled in a hybrid still. Juniper berries are also placed in the vapor basket to enhance balsamic notes and deliver a more intense aromatic profile.
The name "Wa Bijin" refers to Japanese aesthetic principles of harmony, simplicity, and beauty in refinement—values reflected in the character of this gin: fresh, citrusy, and delicately floral. Bottled at 45% ABV, Wa Bi Gin offers a refined sensory experience, equally suited for sipping neat or for elegant mixology.

Color: Clear, crystalline.
Nose: Aromatic and balanced, opening with a burst of Japanese citrus for immediate freshness. Floral and herbal notes intertwine with subtle spice, while juniper gradually emerges, lending discreet elegance to the profile.
Palate: Soft and citrus-forward on entry, followed by a more complex and structured progression. The heart of the sip reveals an interplay of vegetal freshness and light spice, perfectly balanced by the presence of juniper, here more pronounced. A subtle spiciness adds depth without overwhelming.
Finish: Long, clean, and refreshing, with fine bitterness and a lingering citrus-balsamic persistence. An elegant close.
