Maison Christian Drouin continues its creative journey by exploring new flavor combinations and pays tribute, with Le Gin Pira, to another iconic fruit of Normandy: the Domfront pear. Renowned for its Calvados and its mastery in transforming fruit into refined spirits, the Maison chose to highlight this variety, traditionally used in the production of Poiré Domfrontais, by incorporating it into a recipe that balances elegance and authenticity.
Alongside the Domfront pear, five botanicals – juniper, lemon, vanilla, black pepper, and orris root – are each macerated and distilled separately following the distillery’s artisanal method, before being blended into a harmonious composition. The result is a refined and distinctive gin, expressing delicacy, complexity, and a finely tuned balance. The packaging mirrors the visual identity of Le Gin de Christian Drouin but is enhanced with a luminous pear-green shade, immediately evoking the fruit at the heart of this edition.
Awarded World’s Best Signature Botanical Gin 2024 at the World Gin Awards, Le Gin Pira confirms Maison Drouin’s vocation for blending tradition and innovation, creating an original and contemporary spirit, ideal for sipping neat or as the centerpiece of sophisticated cocktails.
