The Gastronomic Gin is an exceptional spirit born from the collaboration between three-Michelin-starred chef Jonnie Boer, of the renowned De Librije restaurant, and master distiller John de Lange of the historic Onder de Boompjes Distillery in Schiedam, active since 1658.
This gin stands out for its bold, gastronomic aromatic profile, designed to complement refined dishes and deliver an extraordinary sensory experience. Its recipe features 16 botanicals, a skillful balance between classic ingredients and more original, spicy notes. One of its distinctive traits is the use of five pepper varieties sourced from around the world: allspice, Sichuan pepper (China-Japan), Voatsiperifery (Madagascar), long pepper (Tibet), and Sarawak pepper (Borneo). Together, they lend depth, warmth, and a well-balanced hint of spiciness. Thanks to its complexity and versatility, Gastro Gin & Jonnie appeals both to lovers of classic gin and to those eager to explore new aromatic frontiers in mixology and haute cuisine.

Color: Clear, crystalline.
Nose: At first impact, a fresh and citrusy bouquet emerges, with lively notes of orange and lemon, followed by herbal nuances and subtle, elegant hints of spice. Delicate impressions of fennel and anise anticipate the aromatic depth to come.
Palate: The entry is smooth and citrusy, with an initial sweetness that gradually gives way to a layered spiciness. Juniper, cardamom, and pepper develop progressively, delivering warmth without overshadowing the fruity freshness. Hints of anise and a balsamic touch enhance the balance.
Finish: Long, aromatic, and lightly piquant, thanks to the contribution of the five pepper varieties. Citrus freshness merges with a pleasant spicy burst, leaving a complex and persistent aftertaste.
