Born from the mind of Paul Hletko at the renowned FEW Spirits distillery in Evanston, Illinois – one of the leading names in American craft distilling – and made in collaboration with the independent bottler That Boutique-y Gin Company, The Gin Botanical Democracy is a witty provocation in response to Brexit: a true experiment in “botanical democracy.”
Some classic botanicals such as angelica, lemon, orange, and orris were “voted out,” while others – juniper, coriander, lime, and fennel – “remained,” giving life to a surprising distillate where lime takes the spotlight, without falling into the monotony of a single-note gin. The result is a citrus-driven, vibrant, and unconventional profile. Limited edition of only 1,000 bottles, Batch 1.

Colour: Clear, crystalline.
Nose: A bright explosion of lime zest. Delicate floral notes, such as linden blossom, are accompanied by a green, aromatic background of fennel. The aroma is precise, expressive, and one of a kind: reminiscent of freshly cut lime leaves, surprising and unmistakable.
Palate: Intense and brilliant from the very first sip. It opens with bold citrus and pungent juniper, followed by a rich note of lime leaves dominating mid-palate. Midway through, an unexpected and intriguing hint of cumin emerges, introducing a spicy, almost oriental element. The texture is velvety and luxurious, almost like lime gelato.
Finish: Medium length, with a spectrum of sharp, bitter, and oily citrus notes. Spicy coriander returns in the close, accompanied by exotic spices and a faint yet distinctive echo of cumin that leaves a clean, almost balsamic impression.
